Spring 2018 Bridal Photoshoot – Q Station, Manly
It’s January in Sydney and the weather is hot, hot, hot. Our team spent the day down at the Q Station, Manly shooting our beautiful Spring 2018 collection. Whilst we wait on the official photos from our super talented photographer, Ben Hansen of Salt Media, we thought we would share a few of our behind the scenes shots with you.
It was an early start around 6am for our model, Bree Philipson and the Peter Trends designers, Monique & Paulein. We have worked with Bree, from Edge Models before so we knew her fresh, modern look and divine beauty would really show the new range to perfection.
The location of our bridal photoshoot is the iconic Q station, an historical site on the shores of Sydney Harbour at North Head. The colonial buildings are contrasted against the sparkling shores of the ocean all located within the National Park. It is a place of much natural beauty!
The heat was relentless but Bree kept her cool, especially with the Peter Trends team on hand. Thanks to Paulein, Monique and Dominique!
This bridal photshoot features gowns from our yet to be released Spring 2018 collection. This season we have taken inspiration from romantic novels of the late 18th century, Jane Austen in particular, taking the titles of the famous villas and estates as names for our Emanuella designs. Our beautiful range of veils, jewellery and accessories perfectly complement the looks.
The gowns are ethereal, ultra feminine with a nod to yesteryear. Lace and intricate Chantilly feature strongly, with boned corsets and bustiers. We contrast that with sexy low backs, flouncy off the shoulder sleeves and sheer bodices to give a modern day twist. We focused on light underlays and our signature stretch jersey to keep the gowns comfortable so that they can be worn in any location, especially destination weddings. The underlays are contrasted to the ivory laces in colour ways which are flattering to all skin tones; baby blush and our nude toned mocha feature strongly with traditional ivory being the natural alternative.
Austen’s heroines are unique women who try to stand up for themselves in a society that could often be rigid. Today our Emanuella bride is a strong, free spirited, unique female in a league of her won. She appreciates romance and fashion but can effortlessly capture a sense of timeless beauty.
The Spring Emanuella 2018 collection will be launched this February to our retail partners, with the USA to follow in April 2018. Brides can keep an eye out for trunk shows around Australia, kicking off in Perth, WA at Bridal by Aubrey Rose.
