Real Weddings – Elisa & Aaron
This week on the blog we caught up with real bride Elisa and asked her a few questions about her amazing wedding day. Elisa and Aaron were married on 20th May 2017 at the Peppers Creek Chapel in Pokolbin, NSW. Their reception followed afterwards at The Mill Restaurant – Tuscany Wine Estate in the picturesque Hunter Valley. Elisa chose a beautiful lace gown with illusion neckline from the Spanish label, Fara Sposa. The gorgeous flowers were done by The Sentimental Florist who just happens to be Elisa’s mum!
Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband?
Elisa: We met online after our friends both urged us to ‘window shop.’ We talked non-stop for two weeks before we had to finally meet.
Peter Trends: How did your husband propose to you?
Elisa: He proposed at dawn at a lookout at Byron Bay. We had driven up from Sydney the day before and I was a bit grumpy about getting up so early because I’m not a morning person. My attitude changed as we drove through the hinterland towards the coast listening to the song I would walk down the aisle to and I realised something special was going to happen.
Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Elisa: There are several! We were meant to have torrential rain in the Hunter but there wasn’t a cloud in sight so arriving in a horse drawn carriage with my bridesmaids was amazing. Our ceremony was very special to us and we had our guests ‘warm’ or bless our rings before we arrived. I also loved jumping in and out of the car with my husband whenever our photographer saw a spot with awesome lighting and scenery.
Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?
Elisa: I went to two other shops before Peter Trends (3rd time lucky!) and nothing was right and I felt self conscious and uncomfortable. The staff at Peter Trends instantly made me feel relaxed and when I looked through the elegant gowns on offer I knew I would find ‘the one’ here.
Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown?
Elisa: I chose a Fara Sposa gown because I loved the high neckline of lace, capped sleeves and a-line shape. It was exactly what I wanted and the lace was very unique. The dress was a sample and fit me like a glove.
Peter Trends: Any words of wisdom for future brides?
Elisa: Use wedding magazines and Pinterest for inspiration, but don’t let them make you feel inadequate. Your fiance loves you and will think you look beautiful on your wedding day.
Peter Trends: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day?
Elisa: At the end of the night Aaron got to sing with one of his favourite musicians who had come to play for us. It was completely unplanned, memorable and he nailed it.
