Peter Trends Real Bride Ellen
Ellen and Michael were married on 5th August 2017 in Gregson Park, Hamilton, Newcastle with a reception afterwards at the Customs House Hotel. The bride chose a beautiful lace Peter Trends gown and was looked after by the wonderful ladies from Atelier Rose at the Junction. Ellen recently answered a few questions for us about her stunning wedding and gown.
Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband?
Ellen: We met at high school, first becoming friends even sharing some classes together. It wasn’t until year ten that Mike plucked the courage to ask me to the school formal as his date. From then we have been inseparable, travelling the world and bought our first home together.
Peter Trends: How did your husband propose to you?
Ellen: Mike proposed to me on our tenth anniversary. I didn’t expect it as we were busy renovating at the time and he let me plan our whole date, which included a not so romantic movie and a very large Brazilian meat dinner. After dinner we went for a walk along the Harbour. It had just stopped raining and Mike reached into his pocket to get out his glasses case and when I turned around he was on one knee with the ring hidden in his case and asked me to marry him. I screamed with delight and we celebrated at a nearby hotel with champagne before waking all our family to tell them the news.
Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Ellen: It’s hard to decide between our beautiful, personal ceremony with such love put into our vows or the special moment when it was just us two taking photos from the lookout as the sun was setting on our perfect day and the moon was rising over the ocean.
Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?
Ellen: I found the experience a little stressful and I was worried I would never find the perfect gown after trying dozens at other stores. That was until I went to the perfect store, Atelier Rose and discovered Peter Trends. I tried on a couple of Peter Trends gowns and they were all lovely, but I just knew I had to have my darling ‘Denver‘ gown.
Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown?
Ellen: I loved how it made me feel like a beautiful princess. As soon as I put on my gown I felt like I transformed into a glamorous woman. I loved my delicate lace and beading. The best decision was adding the lace sleeves. It made the dress seem like it was made for royalty.
Peter Trends: Any words of wisdom for future brides?
Ellen: Don’t stress the small or big stuff. Things may go differently to plan but just smile and let your awesome vendors and bridal party deal with it. Find the dress you love, no matter the cost. You have to love the way you look in the dress because at the end of the day you only have these special memories captured once and you want to look back and think “Wow I looked amazing!”
Peter Trends: Is there anything special you would like to share with us about your wedding day?
Ellen: We were married on the same date we shared our first kiss, eleven years earlier at Mike’s sweet 16th birthday party.
