Real Weddings – Lauren & Daniel
Lauren and Daniel were married on 25th March 2017 at Gerringong Golf Club with a reception afterwards at Mountain Ridge Winery. Lauren chose the stunning Vanesa gown from our Rosa Clara Soft collection.
Peter Trends: How did you meet your husband?
Lauren: We are high school sweethearts. We met at school in Year 7, flirted for years and finally got together in Year 12.
Peter Trends: How did your husband propose?
Lauren: We were towards the beginning of a year-long backpacking trip in Central and South America. On our ten year anniversary he booked a luxury, over-water bungalow over a lake in Guatemala. He proposed on our verandah at sunset before a private dinner, including private waiter in our room.
Peter Trends: What was your favourite part of your wedding day?
Lauren: Our first dance. As soon as we stepped onto our outdoor dance floor (which I didn’t think we’d be able to have becuase of the earlier rain) and I heard the music, all the emotion of the day caught up with me and I started crying. We then spent the song completely in our own little world and it was so emotional and romantic.
Peter Trends: How did you find the experience of shopping for a wedding gown?
Lauren: So easy! I had done some research online and had ideas for what sort of style I liked. I had asked to try the Rosa Clara Vanesa gown on when I made my appointment at Peter Trends and when I went to the store it was the first dress I tried on. I knew straight away.
Peter Trends: What did you love about your wedding gown?
Lauren: I felt very elegant and romantic in it. I think it is a classic style but with unique touches with the cap sleeves, beading and cinched waist.
Peter Trends: Any words of wisdom for future brides?
Lauren: Just go with whatever happens on the day! Lots of little things that you carefully thought about might not go to plan but just enjoy it all and realise that those little things don’t really matter!
