We asked the Peter Trends Bridal designers, Monique and Paulein what they have in store for us this season, their inspiration and features of the gowns.
Who is the Emanuella bride?
She is free-spirited, well travelled, curious, cool and wants to appear effortless in her approach to being a bride. She doesn’t want fuss and drama; she wants simplicity, ease and cool factor, which is reflected in the relaxed, sophistication of our range.
What are some of your favourite features from the collection? Can you tell us more about the fabrics and design elements?
It was really important to us to utilise beautiful, high quality fabrics for our gowns; we are noticing more and more destination weddings where comfort is important. Our brides want to wear their gown effortlessly all day and enjoy her surroundings at the same time. There has been a great reaction to our stretch jersey in ivory, nude and baby blush which feels so soft on the skin and moves with ease.
We saw that our current beautiful brides and trusted stores were already creating their own bridal looks by customising their gown with leg splits, longer trains and adding different sleeve details for example off the shoulder, draped, lace sleeves. So the new season bridal collection from Emanuella services brides with a reliable gown structure, different colour options and a great variety of laces. We have stuck with the hallmarks of good design that we are known for and then offered a level of customisation to our customers so that our brides can truly create their own unique fashion forward style for their wedding day.
What type of woman is the inspiration for Emanuella?
This season we have taken inspiration from romantic novels of the 18th century, Jane Austen in particular. The gowns are ethereal, ultra feminine designs with a nod to yesteryear, but with a modern edge. Austen’s heroines are unique women who try to stand up for themselves in a society that could often be rigid. Today our Emanuella bride is a strong, free spirited unique female in a league of her won; she appreciates romance and fashion but can effortlessly capture a sense of timeless beauty.
How did you come up with the silhouettes for the bridal gowns?
Our new season bridal collection falls into four main categories, Boho Chic, Classic, Modern and Sassy/Cool.
The Boho Bride
The boho chic bride wants to take off her shoes and run in the sand, sit on a swing, wander through fields – everything has a touch of whimsy for this bride. She wants to wear her gown with just a fine garland headpiece and let her free spirit shine. Our Mansfield Park, Netherfield and Austen gowns all have a strong feminine presence reflected in their lace detailing however they could easily be set free in the forest, by the ocean or in fields of flowers.
The Classic Bride
The classic bride loves lace and a pinched in waist. She will adore her train and accessorise with a long romantic veil. The Kent is a perfect example of the classic bridal gown with fit and flare skirt embellished with lace motif detail on the train. The Somerset has a classic, small waist and off the shoulder lace draping – very ‘Gone with the Wind.’
The Modern Bride
The modern bride loves clean lines, simple fabrics with perhaps a hint of lace. She likes gowns with a modern cut or an unexpected twist. The De Burgh gown features contoured lace detail on a unique honey comb lace underlay with is very 21st century. The Bingley wedding dress has a beautiful luxury crepe skirt which is very clean and crisp and the Girona features a mikado bustier and luxurious full circle skirt.
The Sassy Bride
What bride doesn’t want to steal the show on her wedding day?! The sassy bride will grab your attention in a drop-dead gorgeous gown with thigh high split or perhaps a mini skirt. She might have a bare back down to her lower waist or a plunging neckline. Our Hampshire gown has an optional mini skirt lining and racer back detail. Our Andalucia combines a plunging neckline with a fabulous front leg split in the skirt. The Seville wedding dress is simple in design but features a liquid satin fabric that caresses the curves and a striking back lace panel that makes a statement.
Our goal was to create something for every kind of bride; from the princess to the tomboy. So if you love our designs and would like to experience the collection, simply fill in your details below and a bridal stylist will be in touch!
